Street Vendor and Related Salesperson

Street Vendors and Related Salespersons sell goods or services on a street, in a market, or door-to-door. Street Vendors obtain stock, sell goods, record transactions and promote their business.

Duties and tasks

  • Carefully packages all goods that sold to a customer
  • Contacts potential customers to explain the benefits of his products
  • Displays product samples in an attractive manner
  • Explains the purpose and use of products to interested people
  • Maintains a list of customers and contacts them regarding new products
  • Order goods to be sold on a street, in a market, or door-to-door
  • Records all sales that are made

Working conditions

Street Vendors and Related Salespersons work in a variety of settings and spend a lot of time on their feet while showing and promoting their products. A Street Vendor must be willing to work regardless of the weather. Some jobs are seasonal. Many Street Vendors receive minimum wage and get a commission when a sale is made.
