Interviewer (Surveys)

Interviewers (Surveys) interview individuals and groups on their opinions and preferences for statistics and marketing research information. They must have excellent communication skills and be able to talk to strangers easily and perform repetitive tasks.

Duties and tasks

  • Compile and calculate results of surveys and questionnaires for analysis
  • Distribute and collect questionnaires to desired groups or populations and return them to superiors
  • Distribute and obtain surveys and questionnaires in an objective, indiscriminate manner
  • Examine questionnaires and surveys to ensure that required questions have been completed
  • Interview individuals at random in shopping centres or designated areas
  • Plan and schedule door-to-door routes and telephone outreach for interviews
  • Screen individuals for market research targeting individuals from certain demographics or activities
  • Use paper or electronic models to record survey question responses and questionnaires

Working conditions

Interviewers (Surveys) typically work rotating schedules based on routes and interview times of distribution.
