Real Estate Sales Agent

Real Estate Agents show properties on the market and negotiate the sales and leases of those properties. They are actively involved in salesmanship and persuasion and also the administrative details of brokering a sale.

Duties and tasks

  • Advertising properties for sales on the Internet, in newspapers, and other outlets
  • Arranging for potential buyers to see properties
  • Cleaning and readying the property for showings
  • Guiding potential buyers through the property
  • Investigating and inspecting properties for sale and lease
  • Negotiating the details of the sale or lease and arranging for a contract to be signed
  • Persuading potential buyers of the quality and viability of the property for sale or lease

Working conditions

While Real Estate Sales Agents may be based out of an office, most of their work typically takes place at the site of the property for sale or lease. They may visit several properties in a day and juggle many sites at once.
