Betting Clerk

Betting Clerks place bets from customers either over the phone or in person at betting agencies and bookmakers stands.

Duties and tasks

  • Balance accounts at the end of the day
  • Collect cash money or debit accounts electronically
  • Enter bets electronically and maintain accurate records
  • Observe the amounts of money placed on entrants and keep the betting ledgers up to date
  • Pay out money to winners
  • Receive and place bets for customers either in person or over the phone
  • Thoroughly check the details of winning tickets and the identities of betting agency customers

Working conditions
