Other Building and Engineering Technicians refers to members of this unit group that are not elsewhere classified. Technicians oversee the safety and maintenance of a building.
Duties and tasks
- Approves and assigns plans that meet required specifications
- Determines whether or not a structure is in compliance with specifications, building codes and other requirements
- Develops a schedule for on-going maintenance
- Maintains daily logs and documents with photos
- Trains and supervises other workers
- Uses engineering skills to inspects a structure to determine structural soundness

- Ability to follow safety standards
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and charts
- Communicates effectively with others
- On the field experience
- Pays attention to details
Working conditions
