This unit introduces you to the principles and practice of developing applications for the Microsoft .NET framework, using the Common Language Infrastructure (CLI) and the C# programming language. Topics include the CLI, C#, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, Web services and security.

Please Note: You will be required to download and install MS Visual Studio and MS SQL Server 2008 for this unit.

At the completion of this unit students will be able to:

  1. Design and build Web applications using the C# programming language
  2. Integrate Web applications with a back-end database
  3. Build simple Web services
  4. Successfully address issues of security and performance in designing and implementing Web applications.
