This unit is designed to provide you with hands on practical experience developing software in a project environment. You work in teams and will complete projects from inception to implementation.

The emphasis is on understanding and working within a corporate environment, using formal project and software delivery methodologies and integrating all the skills and knowledge that you have acquired into a solid base from which to progress your professional life.

On completion of this unit you should have:

  1. an increased understanding of the software development life cycle phases
  2. improved skills in developing and documenting project requirements, both functional and non-functional, with a client
  3. exploration and thorough development of design
  4. develop methods for describing and communicating design
  5. develop ability to design and set up testing regimes to ensure quality deliverables
  6. develop high level of competency as a Software Engineer.
