ICT Sales Assistant

ICT Sales Assistants sell computers and telecommunications products and services in retail or wholesale institutions. They should have technical knowledge of programmes and equipment selling and strong communication skills.

Duties and tasks

  • Assist with stock management, taking inventory of products and providing input in ordering stock
  • Evaluate customer requests for products, their desired price range and services and applications theyre looking for in products
  • Process sales orders and set up service plans for customers, collecting payment and setting up monthly payment schedules
  • Provide detailed information and comparisons on product details and maintenance, prices, warranties and related products and demonstrate product usage
  • Sell and set up ongoing internet services and mobile phone plans for customers, discussing and selecting appropriate plans and prices
  • Sell computers, office equipment and accessories, telephones, software and other ICT products
  • Stock retail area with products and fixtures and set up displays of products for sale; package products sold to customers with proper manuals and accessories

Working conditions

ICT Sales Assistants typically work rotating weekly schedules according to retail or wholesale establishment business hours.
