About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. describe the relationship between the structure and function of living human cells and tissues
    2. explain how the circulatory, respiratory, digestive and excretory systems contribute to the changing needs of the human body
    3. discuss how the immune and lymphatic systems work to protect the human body and maintain homeostasis
    4. explain how the nervous and endocrine systems govern the functions of other body systems
    5. summarise how cells manufacture proteins, and divide via mitosis and meiosis
