Storeperson
Storepersons receive, handle, store and issue goods in stores, stockrooms and warehouses. Storepersons unload trucks, organize goods and may be expected to use a computer to monitor stock.
Duties and tasks
- Assesses supply needs and makes arrangement for additional supplies
- Maintains inventory stock records
- Marks stock items
- Receives and checks incoming stock items
- Recommends removal of excess stock items
- Records information regarding damaged goods
- Stocks items in an organisational manner
Skills required
- Computer skills
- Good communication skills
- Maintain accurate records
- Physically able to lift and move items
- Strong organisational skills
Working conditions
Stockpersons typically will spend a lot of their time standing, walking and moving goods. Stockpersons are hired for part-time and full-time positions.
