This unit will introduce you to the concepts of the four-step model. You will become familiar with the theories and procedures in transport modelling of performance and travel demand behaviour. This unit also explores the application of transport modelling tools.

At the completion of this unit students will be able to:

  1. consolidate theory and knowledge of transport demand forecasting
  2. critically review transport software at micro and macro levels
  3. evaluate transport model applications
  4. create network models in transport modelling software
  5. interpret transport modelling outcomes and relate this to reality.
