About this subject
Upon completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Explain the key concepts, practices and processes related to business logistics systems
- Discuss the strategic contribution of an integrated business logistics system to the creation of customer value
- Apply logistics related approaches, techniques and methods to improve business logistics performance
- To be confirmed prior to commencement.
This subject provides you with a broad appreciation of the nature and importance of logistics activities and an understanding of the key concepts and tools used by logistics managers. It enables you to examine the key components of an integrated logistics system, such as inventory management and transport, whilst viewing the system holistically. Central to an integrated logistics system is the customer: by studying the trade-offs between customer service and costs in this subject, you will be able to contribute positively to the decision-making in the logistics management activities in any company.
