About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. analyse the health sector planning context , using the appropriate planning environment analysis tools i.e. Political, Economic, Social and technological (PEST) analysis tool and Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats analysis matrix
    2. identify priority health needs of a population taking equity into consideration, using cause and effect analysis tools
    3. develop Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely SMART health planning goals, objectives and strategies, using a flip method
    4. review a health plan of a developing country and propose an alternative one.
