About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. explain the epidemiology of common chronic diseases
    2. discuss the causes, life course approach and analyse the risk factors for common chronic diseases
    3. apply epidemiological principles and methods to the study of chronic diseases
    4. explain how different sources of bias and misclassification can affect the results of epidemiological studies
    5. critically appraise epidemiological evidence.
