Entry requirements
To be eligible for entry, you'll need:
- an approved degree in the same discipline; or
- a degree in any discipline and one year full-time (or equivalent) work experience in a healthcare, public health or research setting, as approved by the executive dean; or
- a post-secondary study; and a minimum of two years' full-time (or equivalent) work experience in a healthcare, public health or research setting, as approved by the executive dean.
A degree in one of the following disciplines would normally meet the 'approved degree' requirement:
- Behavioural and social sciences (Sociology, Psychology, Counselling)
- Biomedical Sciences
- Biostatistics
- Dentistry, Oral Health
- Development Studies
- Environmental Health
- Exercise and Sport Science
- Food Science
- Health Economics
- Health Management
- Medicine, Medical sciences
- Nursing
- Nutrition
- Occupational Health and Safety

You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification.
All applicants must satisfy the UQ English language proficiency requirements for admission.
If you've completed previous study, you may be eligible to receive credit for – or exemption from – certain subjects in a UQ program. Assessment of prior learning and the granting of credit or exemption will be consistent with the Recognition of Prior Learning Policy (limits in section 2.4).
