A bachelor’s degree in any field, or;
Admission to a Master of Business Administration at UTAS.
Work and Life
Work experience of at least three years in business continuity management, emergency management, crisis management, protective security, organisational resilience, company directors, HR managers, or other senior roles in operational or general management.

The Graduate Certificate in Organisational Resilience aims to develop independent and knowledgeable practitioners who are leaders in organisational resilience. With a strong reputation in resilience research and access to national and international industry partners from the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, the Graduate Certificate in Organisational Resilience will develop students’ theoretical knowledge and practitioner-relevant skills. The course is designed for those seeking to promote and implement change across a range of organisations that include those from the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Students will develop knowledge of contemporary organisational resilience theory and evidence-based practices that can be applied to their current or future roles in organisational resilience, crisis management, protective security and/or business continuity management. The stackable nature of this course means that students can choose to complete individual units as a standalone learning opportunity, complete all four units required for the Graduate Certificate in Organisational Resilience, and after completing the graduate certificate, have the opportunity to use this course as a specialisation in a number of master’s degree programs offered at the University of Tasmania.
This fully online postgraduate course allows students to take advantage of the interdisciplinary organisational resilience expertise available at the University. The Graduate Certificate in Organisational Resilience will be taught by leading researchers and lecturers, who possess a broad range of industry experience. Supporting the academic lectures will be a series of ‘practitioner insights’ provided by industry experts delivered in short and engaging videos. Recommended Study Pattern
For students undertaking full-time study the following study pattern is recommended.
Year 1. 4 subjects in first year including:
- HSP504 Leading Resilient Organisations
- HSP505 Crisis Management
- HSP601 Protective Security
- HSP602 Business Continuity Management
Satisfactory completion of 4 subjects, as required in the schedule, within 1-3 years from commencement.
