At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

  1. synthesise information from several sources to explain the principles and techniques specific to a project
  2. originate and manufacture an innovative series of contemporary art works
  3. present and explain studio practice to peers and demonstrate an awareness of the broader historical and contemporary art context in painting.

This subject was previously known as Painting: Art Project.

This subject is designed to introduce you to research methods relevant to contemporary art. You will develop skills in writing project proposals, initiating your own studio practice and presenting a body of artworks. You will engage in regular ongoing dialogue with staff and peers to discuss the progress and direction of studio project work based in painting.

You must supply your own art materials and have access to a digital camera and/or scanner for documenting your artwork for assessment.
