About this subject

  • By the end of this 12-week subject, you'll be able to:

    1. Explore key concepts and models of health and apply them to maintaining health and wellbeing for individuals and populations.
    2. Discuss core principles of Public Health and examine its role in improving community and global health outcomes.
    3. Outline the structure of Australia’s healthcare system, compare public and private sectors, and consider intersectoral strategies for addressing health challenges.
    4. Describe the social determinants of health and identify patterns of inequality and vulnerability in relation to health outcomes.
