About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. explain how specific urban and transport planning policies and strategies can help to resolve many of the problems confronting cities
    2. evaluate and integrate knowledge of global urban planning and transport policies and achievements to justify a sustainable city vision
    3. apply sustainability concepts to real situations in any city
    4. assess the effectiveness and importance of public planning for the 'common good' and the role of developing positive visions for cities
    5. communicate a positive, solutions-oriented approach to cities and their problems and potentials.
