What you'll learn
On successful completion of this Course the learner will be able to :
- demonstrate professional knowledge that reflects an understanding of the industry and workplace

Special requirements
Important Note: The Undergraduate Certificate qualification was introduced temporarily to the Australian Qualification Framework Second Edition January 2013 to help upskill workers displaced by COVID-19. Currently, the qualification can only be issued by Universities until June 30, 2025, unless extended by the Government. Students must complete their studies before 30 June 2025 to be eligible to be awarded an Undergraduate Certificate.
Practicum placement
The following subjects have a placement requirement:
- GOL110 Regional Industry Placement 1
- GOL210 Regional Industry Placement 2
Students are encouraged to source their own placement in a relevant regional community which must be approved by the Go Local team. Curtin can also assist students to find a regional placement in Western Australia. For enquiries please contact the Go Local team (golocal@curtin.edu.au).
Credit for previous study or work
Applications for Credit for Recognised Learning are not considered within this course.
Description
The Undergraduate Certificate in Go Local Regional Study Experience focuses on social, economic and environmental sustainability pillars, and it provides students with foundational skills in design thinking, project ideation and community consultation in order to approach the unique challenges and opportunities within regional WA. After gaining context for the key industries and economic drivers of our state, students will ideate industry-relevant solutions while embedded within these communities in two immersive regional placements.
