Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Education (Leadership and Management) graduates will be able to:
- Critically apply and reflect on advanced knowledge and understandings of specialised educational theory and practices within the domain of educational leadership and management.
- Critically evaluate issues pertaining to leadership and management models and practices, decision-making, industrial relations, the law, organisational culture, reflective practice, and responses to critical issues underlying the understanding of significant recent developments in education.
- Use cognitive, technical and creative skills with initiative and a high level of personal autonomy and accountability to generate understanding of complex issues in educational leadership and management.
- Use communication and technical skills to implement, justify and interpret leadership and management models and practices, decision-making, industrial relations, the law, organisational culture, reflective practice, and responses to critical issues within educational contexts.

Higher education
To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Education (Leadership and Management) applicants must hold a recognised teaching qualification (four-year Bachelor-level, or postgraduate degree in teaching).
English Proficiency Requirements
Defined as the successful completion of secondary education or a Bachelor’s degree in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada or the Republic of Ireland.
Education students who have English as an Additional language and are admitted on the basis of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) assessment, or an equivalent English language proficiency assessment, are only admitted if they have attained n overall IELTS (or equivalent) score of 7.5 (with no score below 8.0 in speaking and listening, and no score lower than 7.0 reading and writing.

Applications for Advanced Standing and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) will be considered and reviewed on a case by case basis by UNDA's Student Administration.
The Graduate Certificate in Education (Leadership and Management) is designed to introduce students to advanced knowledge and understandings of specialised theory and practices within the domain of educational leadership and management. Students in this program will be expected to justify and interpret leadership and management models and practices, decision-making, industrial relations, the law, organisational culture, reflective practice and responses to critical issues within educational contexts.
Recommended Study Pattern
To be eligible for the award of the Graduate Certificate in Education (Leadership and Management) students must complete a minimum of 100 Units of Credit.
Recommended study load is two subjects per semester.
