Bachelor of Business

Griffith University has one of Australia&#39;s largest and most highly recognised aviation teaching programs. Our aviation staff have strong industry connections and some are world leaders in aviation research.The Bachelor of Aviation is a two-year, accelerated degree allowing students to progress more quickly into an aviation career or flying training.You will be introduced to the sciences underpinning the theory and practice of aviation, including the basic principles associated with each of the different phases of ab initio flying exercises in our virtual reality flight simulators. You will also study courses in areas such as navigation, safety management systems and the human factors. Through the Bachelor of Aviation, you will develop the skills needed for lifelong learning in the evolving aviation environment.The Bachelor of Aviation together with the Graduate Diploma of Flight Management will allow graduates to be ready to work in the aviation industry as a commercial pilot.Entry into the program is either via Standard Entry or Professional Entry for those holding a Commercial Pilot Licence (MEIR) or higher. This course introduces students to a perspective of the purpose of business that embeds values such as responsible leadership, integrity and ethical behaviour, respect for others, trust, and sustainable enterprise. The relevance of these values and their impact on behaviour and outcomes in a business context is demonstrated to students through case studies, real world examples, and testimonials from industry partners. Following from the discussion of values, the course then looks at how businesses develop solutions to respond to increasing demand for sustainability, transparency and good governance. The framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is introduced and used to examine the alignment between business practices and sustainable solutions to real life problems faced by a business. Business Communication

This subject was previously known as Statistics for Social Research.This subject provides a solid introduction to applied statistics for students in criminal justice and related fields. The subject covers both descriptive and inferential statistics, and students learn to use Microsoft Excel for statistical analysis.Students in this subject will be taught to identify when certain statistical techniques are appropriate, and how to perform, interpret and present these analyses. This will enable students to be more discerning consumers of the research literature and also prepare them to carry out their own research projects. Students will be taught to analyse data using Microsoft Excel. These skills are highly sought after by employers.Students should not enrol in this subject if they have completed 1003PSY Research Methods and Statistics and 2009CCJ / CCJ29 Statistics for Social Research.

Quantitative Methods for Social Research

This course develops competencies and behaviours resulting in dynamic, creative entrepreneurs who can transform a business concept into a viable business proposition. In this course, students will be guided through the functions of management to explore the foundations of management.
