It is widely accepted in many professions that learning should continue beyond the acquisition of initial tertiary qualifications. The Graduate Certificate in Professional Learning will equip students with specialised knowledge in the areas of adult learning with particular emphasis on professional learning in practice and leading and building learning communities in professional practice contexts. The program will be highly relevant to all professionals at any level who are seeking the next step in their professional learning.It will be offered part-time over two trimesters to enable working professionals to undertake the program. Assessment can take the form of a portfolio, journal, report, essay, poster or presentation.Recognition and credit for prior learning is available and can be applied to the elective component of the program.

The course provides the opportunity to develop professional HR skills through the examination and application of learning theories and HRD frameworks to individual, group and organisational development needs and challenges. Content includes development of skills in needs assessment, design, delivery and evaluation of training and development, reflection and analysis, the HRD professional role, application to organisational cases and current issues.Students should not enrol in this subject if they have completed: 7015EHR Advanced Human Resource Development
