Supply and Distribution Manager

Supply and Distribution Managers oversee and coordinate the storage and distribution operations within an organisation. These managers also supervise workers who receive, store, and ship products.

Duties and tasks

  • Assigns duties to workers and monitors their performance
  • Interviews, hires, and trains warehouse workers
  • Maintains required stock levels
  • Prepares and manages budgets
  • Responds to customers questions and complaints
  • Review invoices, work orders and data to estimate peak delivery periods
  • Schedules and monitors the pickup or delivery of products

Working conditions

Supply and Distribution Managers have offices within their organisations and work 40 hours a week. A good amount of time is spent in the office reviewing data, negotiating contracts and managing the overall supply and distribution of goods. Managers also spend time with the workers, monitoring their performance.
