About this subject
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Identify and explain the key commercial drivers and trends in the air freight transport industry
- Recognise and explain the roles of major stakeholders, regulatory bodies and operators within the air freight transport system
- Explain and evaluate the functions involved in air freight transport management
- Refer to Mylo for study topics
This subject covers a wide range of topics such as management and organisation of the air freight industry, economic and market characteristics, airports and aircraft, marketing and pricing
strategies, forecasting, cargo handling and terminal management, which will give you a holistic picture of the air transport industry. Both management and operational issues of air transport
will be covered. The discussion of air transport will focus on the movement of freight of both domestic and global markets. The subject will also introduce you to policies and regulations that govern the air transport industry.

Single subject FAQs
Single subjects are the individual components that make up a degree. With Open Universities Australia, you’re able to study many of them as stand-alone subjects, including postgraduate single subjects, without having to commit to a degree.
Each of your subjects will be held over the course of a study term, and they’ll usually require 10 to 12 hours of study each week. Subjects are identified by a title and a code, for example, Developmental Psychology, PSY20007.
First, find the degree that you would like to study on our website.
If that degree allows entry via undergraduate subjects, there will be information about this under the Entry Requirements section. You will find a list of 2-4 open enrolment subjects you need to successfully complete to qualify for admission into that qualification.
Once you pass those subjects, you will satisfy the academic requirements for the degree, and you can apply for entry.
