About this subject

  • On successful completion of this subject, you will be able to:

    1. Identify arguments for and against the need to consent to the exercise of political power.
    2. Understand key concepts which are deployed in the debate on political legitimacy
    3. Apply concepts to the analysis of political phenomena
    4. Read and critically interpret some classic and contemporary political texts

    Students who have an Academic Standing of Suspension or Exclusion under Macquarie University's Academic Progression Policy are not permitted to enrol in OUA units offered by Macquarie University. Students with an Academic Standing of Suspension or Exclusion who have enrolled in units through OUA will be withdrawn.
