This subject will introduce you to key elements and psychological processes involved in close adult relationships. These include areas such as attachment, trust and forgiveness, as well as a specific focus on phases during relationships including dating, commitment, and becoming a parent. Research methodologies used to assess relationship dynamics and functioning will be outlined, and outcomes of research studies explored in depth. You will learn about relevant theories proposed to help us understand the complex dynamics inherent in close adult intimate relationships.
