About this subject

  • On successful completion you will be able to:

    1. Analyse and defend the basic concepts of human resource management from both the theoretical and applied perspectives, and demonstrate how these make HRM a unique source of competitive advantage for contemporary organisations.
    2. Justify the need for organisations to facilitate the strategic partnership between management and employees.
    3. Through cooperative teamwork and individually, critically analyse academic and other literature across a range of HRM topics.

To enrol in this subject you must be accepted into one of the following degrees:


  • LAT-BUS-DEG-2024 - Bachelor of Business
  • LAT-ART-DEG-2024 - Bachelor of Arts
  • LAT-PYS-DEG-2024 - Bachelor of Psychological Science


Past La Trobe University students who have previously completed MGT2HRM (Human Resource Management) or MGT2HRX (Human Resource Management) are ineligible to enrol in this subject.
