About this subject
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- Describe the problem structure and typical solution approaches for optimisation problems in logistics and supply chain management.
- Compile lists of data and resource requirements for typical supply chain optimisation problems.
- Elaborate on how optimisation approaches are applied for logistics and supply chain management problems, in various innovative ways.
- Propose innovative solutions for emerging problems in logistics and supply chain management.
This course evaluates student performance for Assurance of Learning purposes for the program learning objective (PLO): Develop and apply interdisciplinary perspectives to contemporary business practices.

This course focusses on the application of innovative new technologies across the supply chain network. Currently, for-profit and non-for-profit businesses are increasingly using new technologies to simultaneously improve efficiency and deliver flexibility across supply chains. Specifically, this unit discusses the application of artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, automation, big data and internet of things (IoT), as well as the use and result interpretation of optimisation packages for supply chain management.
Students should not enrol in this subject if they have completed 3157IBA Supply Chain Innovation and Optimsation at Griffith University.

Single subjects are the individual components that make up a degree. With Open Universities Australia, you’re able to study many of them as stand-alone subjects, including postgraduate single subjects, without having to commit to a degree.
Each of your subjects will be held over the course of a study term, and they’ll usually require 10 to 12 hours of study each week. Subjects are identified by a title and a code, for example, Developmental Psychology, PSY20007.
