About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- demonstrate advanced understanding of information research and evidence-based practice
- examine scholarly communication approaches for diverse audiences
- assess ethical implications of information research in diverse social and cultural contexts
- design an information research project to address a complex professional issue
- critically reflect on a professional experience in an information environment

This subject was previously known as INFM130 Information Theory and Research.
Research and evaluation are central to understanding a discipline and ensuring ongoing improvement in practice. In this subject students learn about research methods and the principles and strategies involved in evaluation of programs and services. Students will undertake a three-week practicum placement in which they engage directly with industry, drawing from their learning across the program.

- Placement requirements - Students will undertake a three-week practicum placement.

- This is in the range of 10 to 12 hours of study each week.
