About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- apply digital curation and preservation concepts, principles and practices
- critique preservation policies and strategies
- research and analyse the diverse cultural, technical and legal requirements that impact on preservation planning and management

This subject was previously known as INFM335 Conservation and Preservation.
Learn how to interpret and deploy the digital curation lifecycle model in various organisational contexts. This subject focuses on the key processes that support the creation, capture, management, preservation, use and reuse of digital objects over the long-term for various purposes. Students will undertake a three-week practicum placement in which they engage directly with industry, drawing from their learning across the program.

- Placement requirements - This subject contains a three-week practicum placement.
- Other requirements - Administrative access to computing facilities, including reliable access to the Internet and to a PC computer which runs Windows (including Word).

- 0.125 EFTSL
- This is in the range of 10 to 12 hours of study each week.
