Master of Conflict Management and Resolution

At the completion of this degree students will be able to:

1. give specialised advice to others on how to constructively manage conflict
2. effectively communicate with, and help, people in conflict
3. evaluate complicated situations of conflict for professional practice
4. use independent ethical judgment and initiative.

Develop the skills required to manage conflict and lead innovative and sustainable change in business. Engage in practical, skill-based learning with genuine conflict scenarios. This degree is online, with optional face-to-face masterclasses.

Students must complete 12 subjects.

Maximum time to complete your degree is 6 years. Maximum leave of absence is 1 year.

Students who exit the degree prior to completion may be eligible to receive one of the following awards:

• Graduate Certificate of Conflict Management and Resolution
• Graduate Diploma of Conflict Management and Resolution.

Completion of an AQF Level 7 bachelor degree, or equivalent. Other qualifications or practical experience recognised by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Division of Tropical Environments and Societies, as equivalent to this. 

Pathway entry is available through successful completion of the Graduate Certificate of Conflict Management and Resolution.

You may apply for a credit transfer for previous tertiary study or informal and non-formal learning in accordance with the JCU Credit Transfer Procedure. Where entry to the course is gained through experience in employment without qualifications, that experience cannot also be used for credit.

If you are of a non-English speaking background you must meet the English language proficiency requirements of Band 2 – Schedule II [https://www.jcu.edu.au/policy/procedures/student-services-procedures/admissions-policy-schedule-ii] of the JCU Admissions Policy.

If you don't meet the academic or English language requirements for direct entry into this course, or if you want to enhance your career prospects, JCU offers pathway study options.

Advanced standing of up to 4 subjects (12 credit points) may be granted for previous tertiary study or informal and non-formal learning in accordance with the Credit Transfer Procedure. Credit will be granted only for subjects completed in the 10 years prior to the commencement of this course.
