Successful completion of an Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent; OR

Hold a professional qualification such as a Certificate of Competency as a Master Class 1 (Unlimited) or or Engineer Class 1/Chief Engineer (Unlimited).

Description

The Graduate Certificate in Maritime Management is an ideal program for people who seek to pursue a career in the maritime industry. The maritime industry is at the forefront of international trade with dynamic work environments and provides exciting career opportunities. This program equips graduates with the ability to develop solutions for complex problems faced by the maritime industry.


The program comprises four subjects which provide skills and knowledge in effectively managing maritime business and transport activities. These subjects are designed to enhance students’ managerial and analytical skills to assist their career progression.


The program provides a pathway to the Graduate Diploma of Maritime Management and the MBA in Maritime Management.

For students undertaking full-time study the following study pattern is recommended.


At least two (2+) subjects should be selected from this list of 4 core subjects:

  • TAS-JNB518 Finance for Decision-Making
  • TAS-JNB521 Maritime Economics for Managers
  • TAS-JNB534 Commercial Ship Management


The remaining subjects can be selected from a list of option subjects:

  • TAS-JNB616 Port Management and Strategy
  • TAS-JNB620 Maritime Law
  • TAS-JNB626 International Maritime Policy
  • TAS-JNB635 Business Analytics and Operations Research
  • TAS-JNB739 Strategic Management

Satisfactory completion of 4 subjects, as required in the schedule, within 0.5-2 years from commencement.
