Description
The Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Organisational Capability is designed to help you cultivate your leadership potential. This 4-subject program will support you to enhance your understanding and practice of leadership by drawing on traditional and emerging leadership concepts and guiding you through their application in contemporary organisations. You will be challenged to evaluate the complexities of leadership as position (e.g. legitimate power), as process (e.g. talent management, organisational behaviour, informal leadership), and as embedded in context and place. A key focus will be exploring the role of leaders in fostering cultures that enable capability development.
Through live case studies, guest lectures, simulations, and peer to peer discussion, you will examine and evaluate myriad approaches to leadership, including Indigenous, ethical, and character-based perspectives. Flipped classroom methods will allow you to access the learning materials at a time that suits you, before exploring key topics with world-class academics, peers, and industry guests in online tutorials and workshops. You'll be encouraged to bring your experiences into the discussion and contribute to the co-creation of knowledge in relation to the many aspects of leadership.
This program will allow you to generate a more expansive and critical view of the role of leaders and leadership in developing organisational capability, which is essential to navigating an increasingly risky and complex organisational landscape. It will give you the insight and confidence to question traditional approaches and adopt wiser, more creative and nimble approaches to achieving organisational outcomes and stakeholder value. By completing this program, you'll become part of the new generation of leaders who successfully develop and guide organisations through uncertain and volatile times.
