Entry requirements

Higher education

Torrens University Australia offers flexible entry options and study pathways, whether you’re finishing school, pursuing career progression or looking for a change. Entry requirements for this course includes:

  • Successful completion of a Higher Education qualification.

Secondary education

  • Year 12 (Australian secondary school certificate) or equivalent.

VET studies

  • Successful completion of a Vocational qualification (AQF Level 4 or above).

Work and Life

  • Work life experience demonstrating the ability to undertake study at the required level.

Credit for previous study or work
Torrens University offers pathway opportunities to further your learning. If you have already completed a qualification you may be able to credit this against a degree with Torrens University, even if it’s from another institution. This is called Recognition of Prior Learning. Under Torrens University's Recognition of Prior Learning policy, you may be eligible for a reduction in tuition costs if you have previous study and/or work experience. Description

During this course, you will choose from a broad range of electives so you can focus on the area you’re passionate about. Additionally, you will complete the compulsory Industry Consulting Project subject, which provides first-hand experience in a business environment and develops practical skills to complement your theoretical knowledge. We will support you in your responsibility to find an industry placement(s), so you graduate with invaluable work experience, a built-in professional network and a serious competitive advantage.

Course duration: 3 years full time, 6 years part time, 2 years accelerated.

Degree structure details

Recommended Study Pattern

The Bachelor of Business course structure is three years (240 credit points) in duration (normal full time). 8 subjects (10 credit points each) per year is deemed a normal full time load. Students can fast-track the completion of the degree by taking 4 subjects (40 credit points) per trimester over six trimesters. This course also involves industry work placement, where you will gain 300 hours of hands-on experience that complements your theoretical knowledge.

Award Requirements

To qualify for the Bachelor of Business (BBUS16), the candidate must complete satisfactorily a course of study that comprises 11 core subjects and 13 elective subjects. A combined total of 240 credit points is required. You must complete 300 hours of Industry-relevant experience across the duration of your course.
