• What you'll learn

  Upon completion of this subject, the student should be able to:

  1. Examine factors that affect the nutrition and swallowing of people living with dementia and how these may relate to quality of life, health, and wellbeing.
  2. Discuss and examine the effectiveness of care strategies as therapeutic interventions used to support the nutrition and swallowing of people living with dementia.
  3. Identify the role and value of services that provide nutritional and swallowing specialist care for the person with dementia.
  4. Communicate contemporary nutritional and swallowing information and practices related to people with dementia to an intended audience, e.g., academics, peers, or the broader community.
