Upon completion of this subject , the student should be able to:
- Classify mental health symptoms to identify the signs of mental distress in yourself and others
- Design and implement appropriate mental health first aid skills to manage distress of self and others
- Integrate research evidence into decision-making processes regarding mental health first aid management strategies

This subject will teach you the skills to help someone you're concerned about – whether it be a friend, family member, patient, client, employee or colleague - and also identify and respond to your own mental health needs in a trauma-informed, evidence-based manner.
