About this subject

  • By the end of this 10-week course, you’ll be able to:

    1. Provide an account of the main ideas of the sociological theorists studied in the course.
    2. Develop an understanding of the key developments in modern and postmodernist sociological theory.
    3. Identify the links between the social context in which the major sociologists wrote and their concerns and findings.
    4. Demonstrate an understanding of the relationships between perspectives, locations and theoretical and practical approaches to contemporary sociological issues.
