About this subject

  • By the end of this 10-week course, you’ll be able to: 

    1. Identify the legal rights, obligations and responsibilities of human service workers. 
    2. Critically examine the relationship between legal, ethical and other regulation of professional practice. 
    3. Analyse human rights and legal issues commonly experienced by clients of human service organisations. 
    4. Recognise and access relevant information and resources when faced with a legal problem. 
    5. Apply legal knowledge to the facts of a human service problem. 
    6. Exercise professional judgement in working with evidence, timelines and arguments as required in a legal context.
