  • By the end of this 10-week course, you’ll be able to:

    1. Understand the role and importance of communication and the media in human society.
    2. Explore the historical development of communication and media technologies and their social consequences.
    3. Explore a range of media texts and genres.
    4. Identify the different forms and roles of communication in society.
    5. Explore seminal communication and media theories and their application.
    6. Demonstrate awareness of the multi-disciplinary nature of communication and its application.
    7. Demonstrate understanding of the social, political, economic and technological aspects of communication and media.
