About this subject

  • Students who successfully complete this subject will be able to:

    • Critically analyse contemporary debates around migration, race, ethnicity and multiculturalism;
    • Identify and differentiate between the major theories of migration, race and ethnicity utilised in current debate;
    • Apply concepts from sociological theories of migration to experiences of migration;
    • Use sociological theory to analyse racial and ethnic relations and identify formations in Australia and overseas.
