Understanding and Support for Autism

About this subject

    1. Identify, describe, and critically evaluate the historical and current conceptualizations of autism, including approaches to assessment, diagnosis, interventions and supports.
    2. Describe, apply and evaluate individual history and assessment results to address a diagnostic question related to autism.
    3. Search for, identify and critically evaluate the available scientific evidence on topical issues related to autism and communicate this in ways that are accessible to general public/lay audiences.
    4. Demonstrate ethical awareness and cultural sensitivity related to the topic of autism and to professional practice, including in the use of personal information provided through case studies, the translation of scientific evidence for the interested general public, and the appropriate citation of sources in written work.
