- Work efficiently and effectively as a member of a team to critically analyse IT business ventures based on social, legal and ethical issues and examine the responsibilities of IT professionals to employers, clients, and society.

Entrepreneurship is an essential element of today’s society. This subject will outline the basic principles of Entrepreneurship. It will examine the steps required in developing an idea into a business and will explore the tools and necessary insights to make a successful venture. You will interpret and employ theory to case studies. Guest speakers will present and discuss start-up issues, pitfalls, and the ingredients for success. You will also develop professional skills related to ethical and moral decision making and evaluate the social implications of their work and the broader global context.
- A reflective piece on entrepreneurship (equivalent to 500 words) (5%)
- Business Pitch Presentation (25 mins per group, equivalent to 400 words per student) (15%)
- Business case study analysis: developing a lean canvas (equivalent to 600 words per student) Group – max. 5 students. (20%)
- Employment preparation task (equivalent to 1200 words) Resume and Cover letter, Interview questions. (20%)
- Reflective piece on ethics (equivalent to 500 words) (10%)
- 60 minutes end-of-semester examination (equivalent to 1000 words) Individual, 20 multiple choice questions & 2 case studies. (30%)
