Entrepreneurship is an essential element of today’s society. This subject will outline the basic principles of Entrepreneurship. It will examine the steps required in developing an idea into a business and will explore the tools and necessary insights to make a successful venture. You will interpret and employ theory to case studies. Guest speakers will present and discuss start-up issues, pitfalls, and the ingredients for success. You will also develop professional skills related to ethical and moral decision making and evaluate the social implications of their work and the broader global context.
- Entrepreneurship pitch group presentation (equivalent to 250 words per student) Group – max. 10 minutes, Max 5 students. (10%)
- Business case study analysis: developing a lean canvas (equivalent to 500 words per student) Business Tool Group – max. 5 students. (20%)
- Employment preparation task (equivalent to 500 words) Resume and Cover letter, Interview questions. (20%)
- Ethics assignment (equivalent to 1000 words) (20%)
- 60 minutes end-of-semester examination (equivalent to 1000 words) Individual, 20 multiple choice questions & 2 case studies. (20%)
- Two reflective journals (equivalent to 800 words – 400 each) (10%)
