This subject was previously known as Beginning Chinese Developing.
This subject covers both written and spoken Chinese at an introductory level that builds on prior knowledge gained in CHN100 Chinese for Beginners. A communication-oriented approach is used to help students develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing Standard Modern Chinese so that they will be able to interact with speakers of Chinese in simple day-to-day situations. A wider range of topics on Chinese society and culture will also be introduced through mini-lectures, audio-visual presentations and real-time classroom-based or online tutorials.
Please Note: If it’s your first time studying a Curtin University subject you’ll need to complete their compulsory ‘Academic Integrity Program’. It only takes two hours to complete online, and provides you with vital information about studying with Curtin University. The Academic Integrity Program is compulsory, so if it’s not completed your subject grades will be withheld.
