About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. explain the differences between the Asian languages and Australian English in written spoken and non-verbal forms
    2. identify cultural backgrounds that relate to the language forms, styles and use covered in the unit
    3. apply communication strategies appropriate for use in Asian cultures by considering the style of communication to suit specific situations or contexts
    4. evaluate and synthesise relevant information in order to compare and contrast the different cultural and communicative backgrounds which may be encountered when engaging with Asia
