This subject was previously known as INFM270 Archives Concepts and Practice.
Learn about types of archival collections created and acquired by GLAM organisations that document identity, memory and heritage. The focus in this subject is on the people, organisations and events involved in the acquisition, creation, selection and appraisal of archival collections over time. Students explore the role and use of collections in society for accountability, civil and human rights, reunification and healing, historical and scientific research, genealogy and family histories, as well as personal and community identity.
