- analyse and explain the cultural practices and etiquettes in Chinese society an their reasons
- exchange opinions and conduct conversations in Chinese
- compose and present detailed text in Chinese on subjects related to familiar social situations and personal experience
- compare and contrast the different cultural and communicative practices and social norms

This subject is designed to further promote an understanding of cultural etiquettes and social behaviours in Chinese culture. The subject develops students' language skills through close reading of non-authentic and authentic texts in Chinese language. These skills would be demonstrated by application of complex vocabulary and grammatical techniques. Focus will also be on analysis and exploration of similarities and differences in social and cultural norms and communication patterns between Chinese and other cultures.
