About this subject

  • Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:

    1. Use an active vocabulary of about 2000 items.
    2. Recognise and produce phrase and sentence structures to conduct simple conversations and the reading, writing, and translation of texts on a wide range of topics.
    3. Communicate in speaking and writing on a range of everyday topics, including geography, politics, and climate change.
    4. Demonstrate an understanding of the diverse cultures and everyday life of Papua New Guinea, including social etiquette, basic knowledge of their traditions and cultural events.
