About this subject

  • Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:

    1. acquire fundamental knowledge of the sounds of the Turkish language and vowel and consonant harmonies;
    2. communicate in everyday life situations in Turkish within a range of selected topics;
    3. write and understand simple short sentences and read passages of moderate length in Turkish;
    4. use basic grammatical concepts enabling them to refer to present, past and future events; and
    5. understand Turkish culture and society through reading related texts and cases.
