Ideal for those who are new to finance, are career changers or who want to advance their knowledge in the field, the Graduate Certificate in Finance provides the technical competencies and analytical skills to apply financial theory and quantitative techniques within various financial scenarios. This will provide a solid foundation in finance to prepare students for more advanced study based on the CFA Institute Univeristy Recognition Body of Knowledge (our Master's degree) and/or to take on new challenges in the increasingly globalised and competitive financial sector. For those new to the industry who hold no prior experience, this will provide a solid starting foundation for a career in finance. This degree can also gain credit into the Master of Finance.
The Graduate Certificate in Finance is designed for three purposes:
- To provide fundamental knowledge and skills in finance for non-finance professionals. This may enhance opportunities with current employers, for example, managerial roles require good comprehension of basic financial concepts.
- To provide a taste of what finance is like for people seeking a career change.
- To build foundation knowledge for future more advanced studies in finance at a Masters level. Career options may include entry level jobs in financial services such as banking, funds management and financial advice.
